Our commissioning services team is highly trained and are all Qualified Commissioning Process (QCxP) providers. We also have engineers trained as CxA (Certified Commissioning Authority), CBCP (Certified Building Commissioning Professional), CEM (Certified Energy Manager) and BSC (Building Systems Commissioning Certified Professional) to ensure individual facility systems are installed and operated properly, and to verify these systems operate as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Our hands-on approach to defining the start-up and commissioning process begins during preconstruction and continues through testing and verification and into occupancy.
Start-up and commissioning services are standard on all Kiewit building projects.
Our staff of mechanical, electrical and architectural engineers is certified by the University of Wisconsin as QCxP and is recognized by the BCA (Building Commissioning Association) and the USGBC (US Green Building Council) as a third-party commissioning authority. Collectively, they have commissioned over nine million SF of LEED-certified facilities.
Kiewit's commissioning protocol is based on ASHRAE Guideline 0-2005 as recommended by the USGBC and many of our Cx Engineers are also LEED-accredited professionals, providing the best in both areas of expertise when preparing LEED submittal materials.
Our goal is NO PROBLEM BUILDINGS and a formalized commissioning program managed outside of the construction team helps us accomplish this mission.
Energy costs are?becoming an increasingly larger aspect of a building owner’s budget. Regular benchmarking of energy utilization compared to similar building types is an important way to determine target consumption ranges. Our teams are experienced in energy auditing to identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) that will have the greatest return on investment. We register every construction project we build with the EPA’s Energy STAR program at the end of the warranty period at no cost.
