University of Nebraska Omaha Mammel Hall?-?Omaha, Neb.
Completed at a total cost of $27 million, this 120,000-square-foot, three-story building has a strong presence on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus.
Mammel Hall is organized into four categories: administrative functions, faculty areas, classrooms and public spaces. The administrative and faculty areas serve as anchors at either end of the Mammel Hall’s L-shaped structure. Both ends are connected with a three-story glass atrium. This connective "infill" is constructed of aluminum and glass to contrast strongly with the more materialized building corners, conveying a sense of the strong university tradition invested in administration and faculty, joining the promise of the future represented by the student body. Traditional brick, glass and limestone materials were chosen for their longevity and institutional quality.
